False sexual harassment accusations
The state is: ? Washington
Several months ago a female employee that I supervise made accusations against several male co-workers for sexual harassment. An inquisition was launched by the company but nothing actually came from it. Now, with imminent disciplinary actions pending against her for unsatisfactory work performance for a totally unrelated issue, she has accused me of sexual harassment spanning a period of several months. The company is investigating her complaint and will not be pursuing disciplinary actions. What are my rights?

- Thanks Beth... is there anything I can do about expunging my employee records about this incident? The company was supposed to have me sign my statement concerning this complaint but they've not approached me to follow-up yet.#1; Sat, 08 Nov 2008 06:46:00 GMT
- You have the right to wait and see what comes of the company's investigation. Apparently she's already made several unfounded SH accusations and I expect your employer will investigate and conclude this is unfounded as well - and a ploy to avoid disciplinary action. I'm not going to second-guess your employer's decision to hold off on disciplining her as if that happens, you can bet she's going to file a claim of retaliation for making the SH complaints. They may have made a strategic legal decision to bide their time with her.#2; Tue, 04 Nov 2008 11:31:00 GMT
